Throwing away the notion of a photograph as a single moment in time photographers Ken Kitano and Doug Keyes photograph hundreds of frames to formulate one collective image.
Ken Kitano, in his project our face, photographs many people of similar age or occupation then exposes the multitude of negatives, individually onto one sheet of paper. The end result is a collective portrait.
Doug Keyes, in Collective Memories, photographs every page of a book with the images then layered forming one image and a collective rendering of a book's worth of knowledge.
